Fried Banana Split

Banana split is a classic ice cream served in an oblong dish and contains fresh banana, sliced ​​lengthwise, hence the split. There are many variations, but the classic banana split is made with three scoops of ice cream flavors of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Garnished with nuts, whipped cream and maraschino cherries.
Try the version I suggest, with the banana dipped in a thick batter and fried. Accompany it with the ice cream of your choice, made by you or even ready.

Ingredients (8 servings)

  • ice cream of your choice
  • 8 bananas
  • 100 gr (3.5 oz) flour, self raising
  • 40 gr (1.4 oz) corn flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg, the yolk
  • 130 gr (4.6 oz) club soda
  • light oil for frying
In a large, wide bowl, sift the flour and corn faour with the baking powder and salt.
Open a dent in the center and add the cinnamon, sugar and egg.
Pour a little by little the soda.
Mix in a circle with the wire from the center outwards taking a little flour at a time until you have a thick batter without lumps. If necessary add a little soda yet, depending on the density.
Clean from the peel the bananas and pour in the batter.
Pour enough oil in the pan to burn.
Get the banana using two forks, keep it awhile to drain the slack batter and place it in the pan.
Fry four at a time, at a distance from one another .
You repeat with the remaining bananas.
Fry over moderately high heat until browned on all sides.
Drain on absorbent paper and leave them to cool slightly.
Serve in individual portions, putting a banana sliced ​​lengthwise, 2-3 scoops of ice cream, topped with caramel sauce and a few crushed walnuts.
