Garlic's Breadsticks

Fluffy, buttery and very tasty.
A fluffy bread, cut in sticks. Bread sticks, flavored with garlic and basil, very easy to make and without much work.
Enjoy them warm to accompany your appetizers and/or main dish.

Ingredients (1 bread loaf)

  • 200 gr flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp icing sugar
  • 1 tsp dry yeast
  • 1 tsp dried cilantro, crushed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 100 ml lukewarm water
  • coarse sea salt for sprinkling
In a medium size bowl, sift the flour, make a puddle in the middle, and add oil, salt, coriander, dry yeast and sugar icing.
Knead well for 5 minutes adding little by little lukewarm water until you have a soft and elastic dough.
Shape the dough into a ball.
Grease our palms and gently smooth the surface of the ball.
Cover with a transparent membrane and a towel, and put it somewhere warm for 1 hour, until it rises and double in size.
When the dough rises, put it on the work surface, lightly floured, and roll with a rolling pin into an oval shape, like lagana, ~35x20 cm/ ~14x8 inches.
Transfer the dough to a baking pan lined with parchment paper.
Cut parallel lines every 2 to 2.5 cm/ away, stopping just before the edge, so the stripes continue to be detained along the edges of the bread.
Sprinkle with coarse salt and cover again.
Allow the bread to rise again ~30 minutes.

Spreading Ingredients

  • 50 gr/ 1.8 oz butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bunch fresh basil, finely chopped
Put the butter in the pan and let it melt over medium heat.
Add garlic and after a while add the basil.
Let them sauté for a while.
When the bread has risen for second time, remove the transparent membrane and bake in the oven at 200°C/ 400°F/ Gas Mark 6 for 15'-20' or until cooked and golden brown.
When pressed with a finger on one end, it should seem solid.
Remove from the oven, place it onto a rack and spread over it the hot butter with garlic and basil.

    Μην ανησυχείς, θα σας ταλαιπωρώ όσο μας επιτρέπουν να αγοράζουμε τρόφιμα και να τρώμε...Μετά θα προσαρμοστούμε αναλόγως.

    Φτιάξε το αυτό το ψωμάκι είναι νόστιμο και θα αρέσει και στα παιδιά.
