Leaving pork slowly cooked in tomato sauce builds a deep and rich flavor. Usually served upon Pappardelle, but with my choice and the tendency to create something new / different always based on the original recipe, pasta incorporated in ragout sauce and then covered with a thick sauce semolina, that went golden brown in the oven and became a new dish, very tasty.
Of course it is needless to emphasize that it is infinitely tastier than the classic pastitsio…

In the recent trip to the most beloved of all our destinations, London, we had beautiful time, we pass always beautiful…
We walked, had fun, wandered, enjoyed, tasted flavors favorite but also unfamiliar flavors in ethnic Kitchens.

It was very nice weather so the interest of our search focused on the outdoors in sheltered or outdoor markets, with rare sometimes food & dishes in the streets and squares photographing and admiring gorgeous old but also super modern buildings, churches and sculptures, the riparian Thames with its beautiful bridges and small tributaries and of course the unique beauty of palaces, castles and towers.

Green parks fully equipped for rest, relaxation, training or sports, with lakes for fishing, that the crossing wooden bridges, with lush vegetation, that you put bet that this can not be in the heart of London. Or in the botanical gardens of unique beauty and enormous scientific work, such as the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, was founded in 1840 and which host the largest and most diverse botanical and mycological collection in the world. In Kew Gardens has created the Millennium Seed Bank. Today, there are stored samples from 10% of all the world's plants, and by 2020 experts aspire to gather samples from 25% to save the world from an upcoming ecological disaster.

Everywhere we find spaces, small shops to buy stylish items, have lunch, drink our coffee and to rest from the long hike. Wherever we went people were long. Young, old enjoyed their ride.

We certainly visited and known, and our favorite museums and art galleries and photography but also places unknown to us until now. We made ourselves at the busiest commercial streets with incredible rush! Those who follow and Facebook would certainly have seen the pictures I send all of them. Here today I will simply show you some of the culinary delights of our trip and a small, very small sample of our wanderings!
And do not forget the London of 9 million inhabitants is a museum city, enjoy it through my own look through my camera lens!

Here it was prepared to be pickled, to be closed in our most transparent jars and to be able to enjoy it as a precious meze whenever we want!

Octopus boiled and flavored in a Court-bouillon, meaning «short broth». This is an intensely flavored vegetable broth, spices and aromatic herbs (bouquet garni) and which contain an acidic ingredient such as vinegar, wine or lemon juice. Balèzès, Traditional Dessert of Lesvos Island

Balèzès
This light dessert, flavored with rosewater, has the origin of Lesbos. This was making of my mother in law, who was from there.
From what she told me, it was given in women who had just given birth, to strengthen, in order to have enough milk to breastfeed their baby. This is because it is a starchy dessert with sugar and nuts. Therefore quite energizing and suitable for new mothers.
Cold from the fridge is a very refreshing cream. It comes instead of white almonds with fresh, raw pistachio or sprinkled with cinnamon.

Heat and mini heat wave in many parts of Greece in mid-June. Although unexpected and premature let us welcome it relaxed and refreshing. Follow the instructions given by the means of information for air-conditioned spaces or a dip in the sea at the nearby beach, with refreshing drinks in hand, it is a very good choice!
I would suggest a super icy, very light, and tasty dessert if you stay home. The only condition is to prepare the previous day to enjoy iced the next day.
Fresh cherries are sweet, delicious & nutritious, one of the most valuable summer fruits, beautiful, full of antioxidants, and healthy. Immersed in a light gel and combined with flavored panna cotta yogurt! This exquisite dessert requires very little and gives us the most pleasure.

Fresh Dip of Tzatziki

The traditional Greek Tzatziki is the most famous dish of Greek Cuisine and of our favorite summer dishes. Variations are also known throughout middle east.
The Fresh Dip of Tzatziki contains sheep's greek yoghurt and fresh cucumber grated. The refreshing taste makes it a perfect companion for a variety of dishes, such as roasted, fried or raw vegetables, various vegetable meatballs (tomato balls, zucchini fritters, κ.λπ.) stuffed vines leaves, grilled meat, oven french fries or baked stuffed vegetables, as well as a basic ingredient in our favorite Greek kebab or fresh bread.
The ultimate dominant in the accompanying and appetizers is the wonderful, intense and fresh taste, with very spicy presence of garlic to balance perfectly with velvet yogurt and herbs!
