Smoothie is a viscous beverage made from crushed raw fruits or vegetables, are often combined with other ingredients such as water, ice, dairy products or sweeteners. They include dietary fiber from kernels, skin and seeds of fruits or vegetables with a composition similar to the milkshake.
In this smoothie was chosen to be used, inter alia, grapefruit. It is a fruit rich in nutrients, beta-carotene, and eating more grapefruit connected to reduce the risk of certain cancers. Eat it like an orange to get more fiber or take the juice and replace the usual breakfast drink with some fresh grapefruit juice.

Strawberry & Grapefruit Smoothie - Low Carb

Ingredients (6 servings)

  • 350 g (12.3 oz) melon
  • 1 red grapefruit
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 kiwi
  • 1 orange
  • 250 g (8.8 oz) strawberries
  • 250 g (8.8 oz) yogurt
  • ice cubes
  • mint leaves
Cut the grapefruit in half and remove the flesh, peeling the inner membrane too. Gather in a bowl all the fruits, which you clean and cut them into smaller pieces.
Keep aside a few strawberries for decoration and put all the other fruits in the blender bin.
Add the yogurt and some ice cubes.
Mash on high speed.
Until we have a homogeneous and viscous mixture.
Serve in glasses with a little ice, mint leaves and strawberry slices.
