Roast Chicken with Rosemary

The most delicious spicy oven chicken you've ever tasted.
Intense spicy flavors with a variety of tastes from fresh rosemary, crushed garlic, lemon zest and hot pepper bite, penetrating the flesh of the chicken, thanks to brushing with butter.
The potatoes are very tasty and cooked in aromatic juices of the chicken.
Baking in the plastic bag gives a unique flavor to the food, as it functions as a pot during cooking.

Ingredients (6 servings)

  • 1 chicken, 2- 2.5 kg (4.4- 5.5 lbs)
  • 60 gr (2.1 oz) butter, room temperature
  • 1 sprig, fresh rosemary
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • 1.5 tsp chili flakes
  • salt & pepper
  • 1.2 kg (2.6 lbs) potatoes
  • 2 tbsp mustard
In a small bowl add the softened butter with the chopped rosemary, crushed garlic, zest of lemon, chili pepper and spice. Stir to mix all ingredients.
With this mixture brush over the chicken outside. Add salt and pepper inside the belly of the bird, cut the lemon into quarters and put it with the rest.
Prepare the potatoes.
Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into thick round slices half a centimeter (0.2 inches). Salt and pepper, brush with the mustard and put them in the oven plastic bag in a single layer.
Place over them the prepared chicken and seal the bag well…

With scissors cut the top corner of the bag, opening a steam escape hole. Put the package in an ovenproof dish and bake in the oven at 180°C (356°F, Gas 4) for 1:45 to 2:00 hours. Careful not to touch the bag on the sides of the oven.
