Beef Burgers in the Oven

Tasty and easy, one of the favorite dishes for the whole family. Soft, fluffy meatballs, most of us know how to make and enjoy at home, oven baked or grilled for those who have this option. Grilling certainly is more delicious!
Enjoy with potatos, rice or vegetables for a more balanced dietary selection.

Ingredients for hamburgers (4 servings)

  • 500 gr (1.1 lbs) minced meat
  • 1 cup stale bread (soaked and drained)
  • 1 cup (8 oz) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large carrot, grated
  • 1 ripe tomato, chopped
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp herbs (oregano, thyme, etc.)
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tbsp salt & ½ tbsp pepper
Start with soaking the bread. If it is whole grain, even better. Remove the crust and soak in fresh water. Drain well.
Dissolve the baking powder in the milk. Mix all ingredients together, knead and shape oblong patties, or in any shape we prefer. If you are making preparation for the next day, all the better. There will time for the flavors to mix together.

For the pan

  • 4 colored peppers
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 2 large carrots
  • 100 ml (3.4 floz) olive oil
  • oregano, thyme, salt, pepper
Clean and wash vegetables. Cut them in medium pieces and place them in the baking pan.
Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with the spices.
We do not put water.
Cover with foil and bake for one hour at 180°C (356°F, Gas 4.2).
In an hour remove the pan from the oven, put the burgers on top of half cooked vegetables and return them to the oven for another 30'-45' or until done. You need to turn the burgers once, on the other side.
They are easy, delicious, juicy and perfumed by the aromas and flavors of baked vegetables.
