Chocolate Salami

Ingredients (12 large pieces)

  • 250g (8.8 oz) biscuits Leibniz-Keks (petit beurre)
  • 400g (14.1 oz) milk chocolate
  • 100g (3.5 oz) butter
  • 60g (2.1 oz) almonds
  • 60g (2.1 oz) hazelnuts
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 shot liquor or brandy
  • 1 cup espresso coffe
  • 100g (3.5 oz) cranberries, dried
  • a little icing sugar, for dusting
In a bain marie break the chocolates into smaller pieces and add the butter to melt with them.
In addition to a broad pan without grease, put the almonds and hazelnuts to slightly roast.
When the chocolate and the butter melt, add the cocoa and stir the mixture to homogenize the ingredients.
Pour the liqueur and coffee and stir to absorb.
Withdraw the mixture of chocolate from the bain marie when in liquid form.
Into the melted chocolate add the nuts and stir to well covered by chocolate.

Stir and leave for a while to cool the ingredients.
Spread on the bench a large greaseproof paper, pour half the mixture to make two rolls, two sausages.
With the help of the paper roll to give the dessert cylindrical shape as salami. The same is repeated for the other half of the mixture.
Wrap the roll with the wax paper tightly and turn the edges like candy. Put in the fridge to cool for ~2-3 hours.
When it comes to serving, take them out for 10 minutes at room temperature.
Sprinkle some powdered sugar over the chocolate roll so that it looks like real salami ripening.
